Asst. District
Directors

Hello Fellow Wingers,
Well, the holidays are officially upon us, and I don’t know about you all, but this year has flown by! It has truly been a wild ride, and if we have to make one resolution – it’s that we have got to get better organized. Let’s see…. Recent disasters included forgetting our district attire at home and making an early morning bike ride to 2 (count ‘em) 2 Oklahoma Wal-marts. Then this past weekend, an unnamed couple had to make yet another Wal-Mart stop for indispensible cosmetic and grooming products because SOMEBODY forgot to bring the Freedom Bag. I don’t know why we can’t remember to bring things, as most of the time we don’t even have time to unpack!’
This past month has been a busy one. We recently participated as instructors at a Leadership Training Instructor weekend superbly facilitated by Gene and Nelda Stanley in Lake Charles. Other instructors included Ed Nahl, Asst. National Leadership Trainer, Dale and Susan Wingrove, Region H Leadership Trainers, and of course LA’s own Brent and Roxie Comeaux. Congratulations to students Bryce Palmer and Cheryl Wilkerson of Chapter J, Merlin and Beverly Mayon of Chapter H, and Ann Nahl, Region H Treasurer and OK-O member. They were an excellent group of students who will contribute a great deal to our Leadership Training program in the future. We were honored to have even a small part.
We also attended our first Region Staff Meeting in Marshall, TX, and I must tell you, seeing all the vests and patches from districts across the region in one room was impressive. Reports from District Directors were given, and business was handled quite efficiently. Our circle of GW friends continues to grow, and the more people we meet, the more we realize we’re all the same. It is wonderful to belong to an organization where economic background, race, religion or creed is a non issue. The tie that binds us all is the love of our Wings. You really do meet the nicest people on a Honda!
In closing we would like to extend warmest holiday wishes to you and your families. May you find the true spirit of the season, and may it fill your hearts with joy.
Let’s ride,
Wayne & Joyce
